Increase Your Traffic

Written by maychaell on 1:20 PM

If you are looking to increase traffic, then I am sure your brain is just about fried from the hundreds or even thousands of pages you have read.

To save your mind from further cooking, I will share a couple of key principals in one short summary. I hope you find this helpful...

Let's tackle 2 main things -- What to do and what not to do. Both are key.

First let's go over what not to do. This is simple; don't do any of the following:

Do not buy traffic. These sites that offer you 100,000 visitors guaranteed will more than likely send you the visitors. Which are not interested in your site and will quickly prove to be a waste of money. I have personally tested many of these and it is a waste of time and money.

Do not over optimize your site. You need to do the things you must to make your site appealing to the search engines, but let's face it. You can optimize your site until you are blue in the face and it will do basically nothing if you have no links or no valuable content.

Do the basic things needed to make your site optimized and then move on. Trust me, spending too much time on this is wasting time you need to be spending doing more productive things.

Do not waste time submitting to search engines. Google takes no time at all these days to index your site. Just recently I did exactly nothing and my brand new site got indexed in Google in a matter of 3 days. Submitting to them will not speed it up and again, you would be wasting time.

Okay. So there are some basic do nots. Pretty simple. Now here is a short list of things that you should do:

Do get all the links that you can. No successful site is a site without links. The more links you get the better you will rank. And, the better and more relevant the site that links to you is the more valuable it becomes.

There are many ways to get links so let's do it the traditional way that is not too complicated.

Start by writing some good articles. You are an expert on your subject and I am sure you could bang out a handful of good quality articles. Then go and submit them to article directories like EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com, and ArticleCity.com.

This will get you links. Simple and straightforward, plus it works.

Another thing you can do is start a blog. Get a blog going and keep posting to it. Write good and relevant content as it relates to your niche. Now, I am sure that this is not news to you, but just do it. It works and again it is simple and not hard. Not to mention that it will not cost you a dime.

You may find that your blog out performs your main site, not to worry though.

Lastly I offer one more way to increase traffic. Again, we are going for simple and easy...

Give something away.

Giving stuff away is a simple way to leverage the viral aspect of the Internet. Is your site selling tennis racquets? Great, now write a small ebook called "How To Choose The Perfect Tennis Racquet" and give it away.

Be sure to get their email address in exchange for the ebook and also give everyone permission to give it away to others. This is a great marketing and sales tool. It's a quick way to tap into viral marketing.

Of course, you are probably not selling tennis racquets, but the formula is the same for any site or product.

Follow these simple startegies and you will be on your way to increasing traffic.

Should Adware Concern You?

Written by maychaell on 11:46 AM

You hear a lot of talk about adware. Some of it says that it does not matter if it is on your computer, and others say that you should not permit it at all. Part of it may depend on who is saying it. Basically, though, all adware enables ads to be placed on your computer - one way or another.

What is Adware?

If you are wondering What is adware? and why it concerns you, then you need to know that some adware, which some also call trojanware or trojan spyware, does little more than enable certain ads to be displayed when a browser is opened. It may also allow pop-ups, too. Little problem can come from that and few would object as long as it is not a lot of ads.

Some Adware Is Actively Spying On You

A lot of adware, however, goes way beyond that simple task. Other adware may be more properly called spyware because it is keeping some kind of track of where you surf, and it may be looking for more information than that, too. In many cases, you have not approved of its presence and so it is actually spying on you and your Internet activities without your permission.

One Adware Program May Open the Door to Others

Sometimes, one adware program from one company may also open the door to many more ads from others. You can also get new adware on your computer from software you purchase and from new downloads, as well. This makes it essential to always have some kind of anti spyware adware software always running, or at least one that will scan your computer each time you boot up.

Adware Can Affect Your Computer's Operation

When adware behaves in ways other than simply placing ads on your computer, it also can effect the operation of it. In some cases, adware may attempt to partially gain control over the Web site your browser opens to, called hijacking, or it may open a lot of pop-up ads, and also allow some spying, too. Spying could include simple tasks like recording your Web surfing habits, but it could even be much more serious and record your keystrokes (passwords, credit card data, etc.) - called keylogging.

At other times, it really could affect the performance of your computer, causing it to slow down and give you a good case of frustration over its performance. At any rate, the solution is to get good adware removal software. You also want to be sure to that it includes an adware blocker or adware killer. You can easily go online and get the spyware adware protection you need and use it to remove adware that it finds.

Get Adware Removal Software with Regular Updates

Because the types of approaches that adware creators use will change constantly, you will need to either buy an adware removal program that allows regular upgrades or free downloads, or you can also download free adware software that can be upgraded.

Being able to get regular new downloads or updates helps you to keep a step ahead of the guys creating the adware. Adware is a constant ongoing business because merchants know that the power to put ads on people's computers is also a way to make a lot of money.

What to Write at Your Blog

Written by maychaell on 9:21 AM

Unique blog content will make your blog a run away success. The content must be good and useful. To do this is a challenge and a barrier for newbies. Having set up my blog and paid for the hosting service and now what to write about?

Questions such as will I have an audience for my blog or will I interest people out there to read my posting will crop up. Or will I be wasting their time or mine too for that matter. Can I sustain my writing for a long time? How long?

Even a popular blog can only stay on average of 30 months. That means it will be in orbit in the blogosphere for about that length of time and then head for natural death. Well, if I can stay that long I will throw a party in my garden.

Do a quick research. Visit your popular bookstore and look for books on blogging. I manage to find a number of well-written books on the subject. I also dig into the internet and purchase few good eBooks. There are also so many related articles found in the internet. It is also advisable to visit as many sites as possible that blog on same topic as you have in mind. This does not mean that you are stealing their ideas. But it will give some tips on how to improve yours. All these will help you build up your confidence.

I share with you what I thought I have learnt.

# 1. If you have a hobby or something that you would like to improve on, you are on the right track. Unique ideas can be developed from here. Take this subject up and develop it into a series of articles. This will set the theme of your blog. Things will be easier for you since you are knowledgeable and have interest in this subject matter. I hope that interest will not die down soon.

# 2. List down all the possible topics and subtopics that you think you can write on. Start with 20 first. If you can do this you will be busy for the next three months. You are already on your way to writing your blog content. Your topic may be futsal but your subtopics can be shoes for futsal, jerseys to wear, how to organize tournaments, etc.

#3. In the meanwhile, learn the technique of replicating a topic. What it means is how to make several related but standalone articles starting from one original article. You will be surprised that when you get used to it, writing your blog content will be a breeze.

So don't get fazed. Start your blog now. However, please don't leave your day job yet.

Therefore my advice is try and make your blog content as unique as possible. By making your content good and useful, you will have a successful personal blog.

Monitoring your Children on the Internet

Written by maychaell on 3:37 PM

You can obtain software for monitoring children on the internet that will work very effectively for tracing back footprints of their online travels, while protecting them from violence and adult material. Here are some important features you should make sure your monitoring software includes:

1. Encrypted log file. This is where everything will be stored and you'll be able to access it by email. This makes things completely invisible. The child will not be able to see, access, change, or delete the file. Encrypted log files can be sent over email at various intervals so you'll be updated constantly on computer activity.

2. Screenshot capability. With this you will be able to have screenshots automatically taken at varying intervals. Now you can see exactly whats on the screen and make a determination of whether or not it crosses the line for child viewing.

3. Capturing keystrokes. This can help identify and record user keystrokes, see what websites are being typed in, and so forth.

4. Ease of use. Software for monitoring children on the internet should be easy to use, and easy to bring up the monitoring results or records of activity occurring on your computer.

5. Download online. For immediate use you should find software for monitoring children on the internet right online, available for download. No trips to the computer store are necessary, as you can save time and set up the monitoring process immediately through keylogger software programs online. Many of these programs will have multiple uses. For instance they can be used for employee monitoring and even cheating spouses, so don't be turned away if you see these tag lines for use. The programs should also mention children monitoring as well.

Local Backup Vs Online Backup

Written by maychaell on 9:55 AM

My interest and expertise in backup solutions started when my hard drive crushed and died. On that drive I had all my business files %2B all my family photos. I couldn't stand the thought of loosing all this, so I found a data restore company, they gave me a good service which cost me almost $2000. After my recovery I understood how underestimated is the data on our computers and I decided to help all my family, friends and clients to become "Data Loss Protected."

When I decided to check out my backup options, I learnt that there are several options, and each option has some specific techniques that everyone should know about for creating a successful backup.

First Option -- Local Backup

Local backup is every type of backup that will keep your backup data on physical media available close to you. This can be:

1. Additional internal hard drive.
2. External hard drive
3. CD/DVD-ROM
4. Magnetic Type media
5. Local Network backup

Local Backup Advantages: These types of backup are:

1. Very handy, and until lately it was the simplest to do.
2. It psychologically feels safe to have your original as well as backup in your physical possession.

Today, I will suggest anyone who backs up his data using this option to think about it as a partial solution at best. I use this option, I am backing up my main PC data to my laptop every day and I also back up once a week to an external hard drive, but all this is only my SECONDARY backup solution.

Local Backup Disadvantages: On the other hand, the system suffers from certain flaws.

1. All these types of backup will not protect your data completely. Some very dangerous threats still exist:

* Theft
* Fire
* Natural disasters like earthquakes, floods and more
* Manmade disasters like terrorists attacks, war

1. It is mostly NOT a fully automatic backup. It depends on many human behavioral activities in order to be thorough and updated.

Second (Better) Option -- Online Backup also known as Remote Backup

This is in my opinion the best solution; it covers all the disasters can happen

Online Backup Advantages:

1. Automatic -- Most systems will require just a short setup, and from that moment on they will be fully automatic.
2. Resides in a safe place -- the same as keeping your money in the bank, away from home. It is better to keep your data in a safe place and not at home or at your office, where it is likely to suffer from the same physical calamity that may befall your main storage system.
3. Unlimited storage -- Some of the systems will enable you to backup unlimited data, and this gives you peace of mind.

Online Backup Disadvantages: This short answer is: None.

The longer answer might include the psychological issue that many people still feel that if their data is somewhere out there it is less safe than near them. The truth, believe me, is exactly the opposite. This streak of distrust in others would have to be overcome.

Registry Clutter

Written by maychaell on 10:54 AM

The Registry

The Windows registry is a database that acts as the main nerve system of your computer and is very important. The registry stores all of the preference and setting information for your administrative settings, file relations, permissions, as well as your user settings for software and hardware on your computer. The registry is constructed of different folders with files that have different names and places depending of the version of windows you have.
Windows will always reference the registry while you use your computer. Over time, with a lot of usage, the registry will collect a lot of clutter, be corrupted which can lead to sever problems with your computer. It also causes runtime errors, and most likely sluggish performance

Corruption of the Registry

The registry is prone to damage from several sources. Many of the sources can be linked to not uninstalling completely certain programs which can leave behind extra pieces of data cluttered throughout the registry. In turn, the left over data interferes with the new data the computer is trying to move connect through. This can also occur when several temporary registry values are created and then never removed. If the registry becomes too large, the computer has to work to hard to find the correct values it has stored in the massive database.

How to Fix Registry Errors

It is imperative to clean the registry and remove all the clutter that is building up over time. Although it can be done by yourself, it can be destructive to your computer to remove in this manner. If you are trained and know exactly what you are looking for, it is recommended not to do it. A registry cleaner software program is highly recommended and critical so nothing is missed. You use the software, follow the instructions and your computer can be running like new.

Make your PC Performance better

You can make your PC performance better by clean your Windows Registry

What are the registry errors?

The values that are stored in the Windows registry keeps on changing as and when we make any changes to the system settings through the control panel. Whether we install or uninstall a program, add or remove a hardware component or make changes to the system settings. Whenever these types of changes are made a new entry is generated in the system database without deleting the previous one. That results in clogging up of the database file. Often the uninstallation of software remains incomplete that again leaves the entry that is no longer useful. Moreover, if there is a virus or other malware program in your computer, they also generate entries in the system database. These malicious data make your PC further prone to malware attacks. These are the most common forms of registry errors that a Windows PC has.

How important it is to have a cleaner registry?

If your PC system database is clogged up with outdated and wrong entries, it will take the system more time to retrieve the required information that will eventually make the PC slower. Too many errors in the Windows system database will also create problems in the functioning of the PC that will result in frequent error messages and the PC will automatically restart. That is why it is important to have a cleaner registry to ensure faster and better PC performance.

The easiest way to clean the registry is to use registry cleaner software. There are so many websites from where you can take a free windows registry cleaner download. Install the software and scan the registry with the software. The program will flawlessly detect the errors in the registry and permanently fix them without any hassles. You can even schedule the scan and keep a back up of the registry so that you can restore the registry in case there is any problem after it is modified.

Free Registry Cleaner is an online resource, providing in-depth information about Windows Registry and the registry cleaner which is an essential tool to achieve PC optimization, removing inconsistencies of your system and speeding up your PC.
